- The world’s oldest international Go contest in history, Fujitsu Cup, has come to an end after 24 consecutive years. On December 19, the Chinese Weiqi Association received the official letter from the Japanese Go Association informing of the decision to close the Fujitsu Cup. Coincidentally, another Chinese company-sponsored world Go tournament will launch early next year. [2011-12-21]
- The first edition of the SportAccord World Mind Games is being held in Beijing. Players from all over the world gather to compete in Bridge, Chess, Draughts, Go and Xiangqi. The Chinese team swept the Go team tournament with 5-0 and China's Gu Li won all of his games. Korea beat Japan and ended up with the silver, followed by Japan who took the bronze. [2011-12-16]
- In the third and decisive final game of the 16th Samsung Cup played on Dec 7 in the Shanghai Hotel, China Won SeongJin managed to defeat Gu Li to take home his first international title. [2011-12-12]
 - The quarter final of 16th Samsung Cup was taken place on 10/5. Among three Chinese players, Gu Li and Chen Yaoye advanced to the semi final, Kong Jie unexpectedly lost to the dark horse Na Hyun 1p, the other winner is Won SeongJin. - In the final of 13th Chinese Ahan Tongshan Cup held on 9/20, Piao Wenyao 9p defeated Chen Yaoye 9p by resignation and won the champion. The champion prize is 200,000 Yuan. This is Piao Wenyao's third national champion after CCTV Cup champion in 2007 and National Go Individual in 2010. [2011-9-21]
 - The first round of 16th Samsung Cup was held from August 24th-26th in Beijing China, as a result eight Chinese and eight Korean players advanced to the second round. The second round will take place from Oct. 4th to Oct 5th in South Korea, two interesting parings are Lee Sedol vs. Kong Jie and Lee Changho vs. Gu Li. [2011-8-27]
 - In the final of 24th Fujitsu Cup held on 8/14, Park Junghwan 9p of Korea defeated Qiu Jun 8p of China by resignation and becomes new world champion. Park Junghwan is just 18 years and 7 months old, the champion prize is 15 million Yen. [2011-8-14]
 - In the semi final of 24th Fujitsu Cup held on 8/13, Qiu Jun 8p defeated Jiang Weijie 5p by resignation and Park Junghwan 9p beat Iyama Yuta by 3.5 points. Tomorrow (8/14) Qiu Jun and Park Junghwan will fight for the champion, the final will be the most important game for both players, the winner will become world champion. [2011-8-13]
 - The quarter final of 24th Fujitsu Cup took place on 8/12 in Japan, Qiu Jun 8p knocked out Lee Sedol 9p by resignation, Jiang Weijie 5p defeated Xie He 7p by resignation, Park Junghwan 9p beat Piao Wenyao 9p by resignation and Iyama Yuta 9p eliminated Sakai Hideaki 9p by resignation. The semi final will continue on 8/13, Qiu Jun will meet with Jiang Weijie and Park Junghwan will fight with Iyama Yuta for the final ticket. [2011-8-12]
